Madonna On David Letterman
Madonna’s 1994 appearance on David Letterman did not get off to a great start when he introduced her with the following words: “Our first guest is one of the biggest stars in the world. In the past ten years, she has sold over eighty million albums, starred in countless films and slept with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.” The music superstar came onstage holding a pair of underwear, which she asked Letterman to smell. She also discussed the benefits of peeing in the shower and used the F-word fourteen times during the interview, which made the episode the most censored one in American network talk show history. Although Letterman asked her to stop cussing multiple times, she continued and even referred to Letterman as “a sick f***.” She also lit a cigar and playfully refused to leave the set when it was time for the next guest.
Robert Downey Jr. On Channel 4
While promoting one of his many Marvel films, Robert Downey Jr. walked out of an interview with UK reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy in 2015. The video of The Avengers star's awkward exchange with the Channel 4 journalist went viral within days. According to Downey, he walked away because the interview became "too Diane Sawyer" even though the purpose was to promote a family film. During the interview, Downey was grilled about many personal topics, including his past legal issues and history with drugs. However, it was when Guru-Murthy brought up Downey’s relationship with his father that he lost his cool. Downey's last words before walking out were “I'm sorry, I really don't... what are we doing?” Guru-Murthy later defended his right to talk to stars about personal topics.
