Beautiful mountainous regions can seem like one of the best places on Earth to live. After all, the unique views are hard to beat. However, one of the downsides of living near a mountain is that there is a risk of mudslides and rockslides. This danger literally hit close to home for the Trebo family, who are residents of a farmhouse in Northern Italy. Check out these six shocking photos that show how close a massive boulder came to destroying their home.
The rockslide occurred in Northern Italy's Alto Adige region on January 21, 2014. During the slide, large boulders rolled down the mountain, gouging out a path in the ground as they fell.
The incident occurred in a remote region, and fortunately, no one was at the Trebo family's farmhouse when it happened. As a result, the rockslide did not create any injuries.
