Instagram is well known for being a dream world, where visual artists come to play. There are many visual artists, but few who have as many as 28,000 followers. One such artist is 28-year-old Canadian amateur photographer Guido Gutiérrez Ruiz who decided to use his smartphone to snapshots on his tours around the world. While that might not sound so interesting, Ruiz has a unique perspective: he focuses on taking shots of reflections found in puddles.
Guido was first inspired to experiment with these types of shots while standing at a street corner. He looked into a puddle below him and saw a reflection of a cloud within it and wondered how he might capture that image with his camera.
While Guido is Canadian by birth, his parents are from Spain. Their family’s frequent travel throughout North America and Europe has allowed Guido to snap some great shots all over the world, like this image of a horse-drawn carriage taken in Seville, Spain.
