The 2016 F-250 represents the most recent model in a long line of award-winning and high-performing trucks for which Ford has become well known. The F-250 has enough towing power and engine performance to get through the toughest jobs, yet is still comfortable enough for day-to-day driving around town. If you’re looking for your next great truck that will surpass all of your expectations, check out our guide on what makes the 2016 Ford F-250 so special.

What's New?The 2015 F-250s were some of the best trucks Ford made, so very little changes were made for the 2016 models. A new supplemental cab heater comes standard in the 2016 F-250, ensuring that you’ll be comfortable driving the truck year-round. The 2016 models also come in two new available exterior colors: Shadow Black and Race Red. 2016 F-250s made for fleet vehicles come standard with 4-corner LED strobe warning light kit to ensure visibility in all conditions.

Exterior FeaturesThe 2016 F-250 is able to perform in all terrain thanks to its ground clearance; that ground clearance also means you might need an extra step to get up into the truck. For that reason, the 2016 F-250 comes standard with 6" angular black molded-in-color running boards and a tailgate step. A roll-up tonneau cover ensures the F-250’s bed stays safe and dry, and a drop-in bedliner protects the truck body from whatever needs to be hauled in the F-250’s generous bed.

Interior FeaturesThe 2016 F-250 has a spacious interior designed with passengers’ comfort in mind. A 40-20-40 split front bench seat gives all passengers ample room, while the driver seat is fully adjustable with lumbar support for comfort on long hauls. Front seats come with side door pockets and cupholders for convenience. Heated mirrors ensure visibility year-round, while optional steering wheel mounted audio controls let drivers stay in control of the F-250 at all times, even when adjusting car audio.

TechnologyThe Ford F-250 has an available Ford SYNC system, which allows drivers or passengers to seamlessly pair their mobile devices with the truck’s audio system. The 2016 F-250 can also be equipped with a remote vehicle start, allowing drivers to start the F-250 from the comfort of their own homes on those bone-chilling winter mornings. A trailer box controller ensures that the F-250 stays in touch with trailers when hauling heavy loads, making for much easier braking and turning while towing.

Engine/Fuel EfficiencyThe 2016 F-250 comes standard with Ford’s 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel V-8 engine with a six speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain generates an impressive 385 horsepower and 405 pounds of torque, perfect for heavy loads. The V8 engine is a Flex Fuel engine, meaning it can run on a variety of different fuels other than gasoline, including ethanol. To top it all off, the engine’s variable valve timing gives the F-250 high fuel efficiency for its class.

SafetyMost truck owners tend to overlook vehicle safety in lieu of performance and towing power. Luckily, the 2016 F-250 has both. The front seats all feature headrests, front airbags, and the cab has two side-mounted airbags. For extra control on the road, the 2016 F-250 features stability control and traction control, as well as four wheel anti-lock brakes. Finally, an engine immobilizer and post-collision safety system ensure that passengers stay safe even when accidents happen.
