What Is Prime Day and How Does It Work?

Prime Day is an Amazon event. The first one was in 2015 to mark the company's 20th anniversary! In 2015, Amazon offered huge discounts and deals for one day for their Amazon Prime service members. Originally, Prime Day was meant to be a single event. But it has become an annual savings day similar to Black Friday. The difference? It's exclusive to Amazon Prime members! The first Prime Day had items sell out extremely quickly, as the demand outsold their expectations! In every year since then, Amazon has been good at anticipating the hype and consumer demand. Prime Day offers better deals than Black Friday in the Amazon marketplace.

Everyone can take advantage of amazing deals during this event with an Amazon Prime subscription. Yes, every Amazon deal of the day is up for grabs! This event offers so much, including Amazon TV deals and even some on Amazon music for Alexa! Amazon Prime shopping deals are the absolute best when this day comes around every year!

Prime Day makes massive deals available on products in the Amazon marketplace, but only if you're a Prime member! Without a Prime membership, you won't have access to the special sale prices. The good news? You can try Prime free for the first 30 days! After that, of course, you'll have to pay a subscription fee. You can choose this fee to be paid monthly or yearly! In addition to the sale prices, Prime members also get free two-day shipping and access to Amazon TV. Prime Day isn't just one day. It actually lasts 48 hours! Over a million exclusive deals are offered over these 2 days. Once the event is over, the deals are too. Many of the deals are on Amazon appliances!

Leading up to Prime Day, Amazon has events that allow shoppers to gain 'credits' to spend on Prime Day. They even offer lightning deals for a couple hours at different times during Prime Day. That means you have to grab them within this frame. If you don't, you miss out! Amazon Prime members may also receive discounts at Whole Foods, since Amazon owns this grocery chain!
