You need to evaluate the space needed in your laundry room when you are buying a new washing machine! First, you need to measure the space you have available for your new washer. Keep in mind that the standard-sized washing machine measures approximately twenty-seven inches across. If you want a larger washing machine, make sure you have the extra space in advance.

It is also worth noting that you need to consider your dryer as well. This applies whether you already have one or have to buy one alongside your washing machine. If you are going to put the washer and dryer side by side, you need at least another twenty-seven inches for the dryer. Of course, some combinations stack the dryer on top of the washing machine. In this case, though you do not need as much floor space, you do need extra vertical space!
