What Does a Solar Panel Installer Do?

As a solar installer, you’ll be working hands-on with PV systems that convert sunlight into energy. Your daily tasks might involve planning system configurations based on customer needs, setting up solar modules, and connecting the panels to electrical systems in accordance with safety standards. Many solar installers work on residential rooftops, but you might also work on larger commercial installations or even ground-mounted solar farms. The role requires the use of various hand tools, including drills and wrenches, as well as wearing safety gear like harnesses to prevent injuries while working at heights. Solar installers also perform routine maintenance and checks on solar panels to ensure they function properly and efficiently over time.1
