It is vital to remember to authenticate your digital signature whenever you use it. You should also authenticate the signatures of others when you receive documents! Many company policies require the signer to validate their signature when they create and apply it. Some programs allow you to set the software to request a password to confirm that you are the one using your signature. Authentication also requires the recipient to verify the digital signature using a signature key generated by the system. Remember, using a digital signature without entering the proper code may not confirm the digital signature is valid. Once it is valid, the digital signature becomes legally binding.
